Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II goes gold

THQ and Relic confirm that Dawn of War II, the official sequel to the well-received line up of RTS games set in Game Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 sci-fi universe, is now in gold master stage of development.  If you know the lingo, then you know that means that development on the game is pretty much done (barring future updates, of course) and submitted for mass duplication.  It's all good news for Dawn of War fans, as the game remains on track for its February 19th release.

Dawn of War II brings back three core armies seen in previous entries, whilst dropping Chaos Space Marines in favor of introducing one of the most requested: the ever-hungry alien Tyranids.  Developer Relic originally cited limitations in Dawn of War's graphics engine as being a factor which would eventually make Tyranids the only race from the tabletop miniatures wargame not made available in the first series of games.  Outside of the Tyranids, Dawn of War II's single-player campaign will eschew base-building and the ability to create more units, forcing players to make due with they have for these scenarios.
