Warhammer Online: Picking the right class for you!

Enjoying playtime of any MMO starts with picking the right class for you. Warhammer online is not much different. For some of you this will be your first MMO, for others, you hardcore folks are not really going to get a lot out of this ’cause you are already 1337.So you fire the game up…fresh out of the box. You have already been looking at the Official Game Guide (which by the way will give you a good summary of the game and mechanics, but is like a computer, as soon as you buy it, the dadburn is behind six months later). Next you open up the Warpatch.exe.

Well character creation can be about as important as picking a car, a house, which college to go to, or whether you should go with Nvidia or ATI Radeon. The process can be complicated because there are over 23 classes you can play in Warhammer. Each class has advantages and disadvantages. For example, Ironbreakers can take a lot of damage, but really don’t deal a lot of damage compared to a Witchhunter or a White Lion. On the other hand a Sorceress can pump out a high amout of dps, but can go down quickly in a close melee combat situation.

Each class will have benefits and drawbacks. This is a way for game developers to try to balance game play so that one class is not all powerful and dominate the field of battle. The golden three are tanks, healers, and damage dealers. These are the backbones of the MMO, and Warhammer has done a great job of mixing up what each class can do.So how does one decide which class to play? The simple answer is a combination of trial and error. Play what you like at first, from your gut feeling and go with it. Learn how to play the game and your class and see if it suits you. You can create up to 10 characters on your server so you can mix and match classes. If Chaoes does not suit you, then try Order or vice versa.
